Good Customer Service is the route to a successful tourism industry

The Tourism Training Forum for Wales (TTFW) has been undertaking the development of a new customer service programme for the Welsh Assembly Government (WAG) to drive forward the tourism industry in Wales.

The customer service programme will be entitled ‘Croeso Cynnes – A Warm Welcome’ and this will be part of a larger programme of support encompassing a ‘Sense of Place’ and the use of the Welsh language.

The customer service programme will entail a Frontline module aimed at staff that deals directly with customers and a linked Manager level module so as to assist the organisation in being customer focussed. The focus of the programme will be to make best use of the distinctly different product within Wales.

The programme will make best use of new media and traditional learning methods to provide a ‘blended’ learning approach. ‘Face to face’ learning will be reinforced and supported by individual investigation into the tourism product on offer to provide a training programme that is relevant to each person that undertakes the programme.

Information on the programme will be available at a Tourism Training Forum for Wales (TTFW) event on the 16th October 2008 at the Caer Beris Manor Hotel, Builth Wells.
